Westview Estates in Lancaster
Flying around California, there are still visible signs of the housing crisis. This community in Lancaster, California, has a unique story. The Westview Estates community was planned to have 425 homes, but only 35 were built before development was stopped. The first buyers in the community noticed that water pressure was a problem. Showers slowed to a trickle and toilets took two hours to refill during peak hours. Even though the water pressure issue seems to have been addressed, low housing prices and pending legal proceedings over the water situation mean that residents can't sell and no new construction is forecast for the near future.
