Echo Park Lake
Completed in 1870 and originally known as Reservoir No. 4, Echo Park Lake was the center piece of Los Angeles' new drinking water system. By 1890, the project was considered a complete failure and was donated to the City of Los Angeles as a public park, which was named Echo Park. Now, the park is part of LA's flood control system and offers activities includes paddle boats, fishing, picnicking, and lotus flowers.
